Why elope

A wedding day without the schedule

An elopement is a wedding day built around the two of you. No seating plan, no timeline running late: you can get ready slowly, walk through a village before the day-trippers arrive, and be on the right cliff when the light turns warm.

We photograph elopements the way we photograph weddings: no posing, a lot of walking, and the small moments in between. With fewer people around, those moments are most of the day.

Spring and early autumn are the easiest seasons: softer light, fewer crowds, more choice of places. Weekdays work beautifully too, and they are often the only way to have a famous spot to yourselves.

Questions we get asked

What's included in an elopement?

Four hours of coverage, around 200 edited photos, a private online gallery and travel anywhere in mainland Italy. If your day grows into a full wedding, we can extend the coverage. Write to us and we'll send you the details.

We want to elope, but don't know where. Can you help?

Yes. Tell us what you imagine (sea or hills, a town or somewhere nobody else is) and we will suggest places we know and that work with the light at your time of year. We can point you to planners and vendors too.

Can we have a legal ceremony in Italy?

You can. Foreign couples need a few documents (passports, birth certificates, a certificate of no impediment, translations), so most couples work with a local planner. Many choose a symbolic ceremony in Italy and sign the papers at home: the day looks exactly the same.

How many guests can an elopement have?

There is no rule. Some couples come alone, others bring parents and a handful of friends. If you are around twenty people or more, it usually makes sense to look at our wedding coverage.
